Halal Food Festival Toronto 2015 {Giveaway}

Next weekend is the much awaited Halal Food Festival Toronto.  This is the third year for the Halal Food Fest.  We have attended the prior two years and are very excited to see what they have in store this year!

Halal Food Festival Toronto is the largest Halal food festival in North America.  The festival occurs on May 30, 2015 (10am – 10pm) and May 31, 2015 (10am -8pm) at The International Centre (Entrance 5).

Halal Food Festival Toronto has more than just food to eat.  You can watch Cake Walk (a cake decorating challenge), watch a sushi demonstration by Chef Russell Auckbaraulee, learn some grilling techniques, watch live performances and much more!  The full schedule can be found here.

Some things to look out for this year are:

  • The Holy Poutine (Spanish fries made with in-house Halal chorizo, Spanish olives and other Spanish inspired ingredients) from The Holy Grill, a Halal food truck launched by Toronto Chef Aleem Syed.
  • Jerk Fried Chicken and Belgian Waffle S’mores from Chef’s Life, sponsored by Sargent Farms
  • The Halal Lollypop Juicy Lucy from Burger Factory

All of those sound delicious! I’m especially looking forward to trying some of Chef Aleem’s dishes since I grew up eating his parents’ cooking at just about every catered event I went to. Although Chef Aleem doesn’t make traditional Hyderabadi food, his menu and creativity will definitely appeal to everyone!

Halal Food Festival Toronto has put together amazing trailers for each year.  Here is the one for this year:
