This is another breakfast made just for Hasan. He loves waffles. This is a recipe I got from Joy of Cooking. We had more than we could eat so I froze the leftovers. They can be heated them up in the toaster when you want to have them again. We had this with some maple syrup.
can add up to 1 cup of butter for an even better waffle but I will just
stick to the amount I used to keep them lower in fat.
Joy of Cooking
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour (have successfully substituted 1/2 cup with whole wheat flour)
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup butter, melted (can add up to 1 cup if you don't mind the fat)
1 1/2 cups milk
Heat up your waffle iron.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.
another bowl, whisk together eggs, butter and milk. Make a well in the
dry ingredients. Add the wet ingredients and with a few quick strokes
combine the ingredients.
Add about a quarter cup of
batter and cook according to you waffle iron directions. Serve hot with
some maple syrup! Leftovers can be frozen and reheated in the toaster.
