Nairn's Oat Snacks {Review}

It can be a challenge to find new and healthy snacks.  I also find it a struggle staying away from sweet treats as well.  When I got the opportunity to try some of Nairn's Oat Cookies and Crackers I was excited to discover some new snacks that wouldn't make us feel guilty about eating them.

Mango Pistachio Kulfi

Kulfi is a traditional Indian/Pakistani dessert.  This recipe is not a traditional way to make Kulfi.  Honestly I don't even know what the traditional way is but it certainly doesn't involve evaporated milk, condensed milk and Cool Whip.  I'm sure it does involve boiling milk for a long period of time.  Regardless, we really enjoyed this shortcut version of Kulfi.  I freezed them in popsicle molds but you can also use a container and cut it into squares.  The original recipe used heavy cream.  I didn't have any, but I did have Cool Whip so I substituted that.  The Cool Whip made it a little more sweet.  The ground pistachios give the Kulfi a wonderful texture.  I'm looking forward to experimenting with this recipe to come up with different flavour combinations!

Milk Chocolate Ice Cream

Summer is half over.  I didn't use my ice cream maker at all during July.  My boys love chocolate and I've been wanting to try a chocolate ice cream recipe for awhile.  I came across a recipe for Milk Chocolate Ice Cream with Brownie Bits over at Annie's Eats.  I had every intention of adding the brownie bits and even baked a batch of Low Fat Fudge Brownies.  But when I tasted the ice cream I thought adding brownies would have made it way too sweet.
